How does a good lesson look like?

I still remember when my son was in Primary school and in need of a tutor for Maths.  I thought I was selective enough in choosing a teacher rather than a last year Uni student. I thought experience was everything needed. I was wrong. Teaching goes beyond teachers’ experience and knowledge of the subject. It is a more complex art. You can be a genius mathematician with years of experience in teaching but are your students actually learning?
I believe teachers and tutors should be above all inspirational mediators to an interconnected knowledge. I like a quote saying that “good teachers should make themselves progressively unnecessary”
Not an easy job, however there are some basic elements that need to be present in a lesson. So when choosing a tutor or teacher for your children make sure these elements are there as shown in this infogram attached.
